Eventing

At the end of Day 2 of the Olympic Eventing, Japan’s Yoshiaki Oiwa leads on 38.10, Team GBR are still ranked 3rd on 127.00 behind Germany on 119.10 and Australia on 122.10, closely followed by Sweden, New Zealand and Japan. 20 penalties separate the top 6 teams. Mary King is highest ranked GBR member in 12th, William Fox-Pitt did just enough scoring 44.10, earning him a joint 17th placing.

After an exciting Day 3 of Eventing at Greenwich Park, Team GBR 2nd on 130.20 overall; Nicola Wilson ranked 20th on 51.70, Mary King ranked 6th on 42.10, Zara Phillips ranked = 10th on 46.10, Tina Cook ranked 5th on 42.00, and William Fox-Pitt ranked 22nd on 53.30.

Team Ireland 7th overall; Michael Ryan Eliminated, Aoife Clark ranked 21st on 52.50, Joseph Murphy ranked 29th on 60.40, Camilla Speirs Eliminated, and Mark Kyle ranked 35th on 65.90.

After the first round of jumping, individual Sara Algotsson Ostholt is leading with 39.3, followed my Michael Jung on 40.6, Mark King 42.10 and Tina Cook on 43.

Team Result

On the teams, Germany has gold on 133.70, Britain silver on 138.2, New Zealand Bronze with 144.4 followed by Sweden on 148.4 and Ireland on 184.8.

Congratulations to Michael Jung who now holds all three titles. Silver to Sara Algotsson Ostholt, bronze to Sandra Auffarth. Followed by Andrew Nicholson, Mary King, Tina Cook, Aoife Clarke and Zara Phillips.

The gold was won by Team GBR following a jump off, closely followed by the Netherlands with a silver and Saudi Arabia with a bronze.
