Sweet Itch Survey Results

Thank you to everyone who completed our Sweet Itch Survey.

The results are very interesting particularly that the majority of respondents were not aware that the horse or pony had sweet itch before taking on it's care and that you would expect to pay less for a horse or pony with sweet itch. This certainly has implications for buyers as it is clear that in order to increase the price paid for a horse or pony with sweet itch some sellers are less than honest in declaring the condition.

We also asked what you would recommend to treat the condition and the wide range of products and management regimes indicated that the condition is not only difficult to treat but also that every horse or pony responds differently and some treatments are more successful than others for individual animals
